Kreis Naugard Church Records

This is a list of church records available from Kreis Naugard, which is very likely the kreis where my Kamrath relatives came from.  It will be a huge amount of work to go through these records one page at a time, but it’s probably the only way we will know where my specific Kamrath family lived prior to coming to America.   See below for a map of Prussia showing these parishes.

About cthomas1967

Seeking to bring my ancestors out of the shadows of history and into the light. I have always been interested in history, and at a few different times I tried to do a family tree, but wasn't able to do it with the technology that was available then. On a business trip I visited the World War I Museum in Kansas City, MO and it was a very impressive establishment. While I was there I remember thinking, "Didn't my great-grandfather father fight in World War I? And wasn't his brother killed alongside him in some famous battle? I wonder if I can find out where he died." That's what started it all. View all posts by cthomas1967

This is vVery interesting research you have done on your Pommeranian ancestors. My great, great grandfather Christian Trantow was born in Gutendorf (near Voightshagen) and emigrated to homestead north of Wausau, WI. You show one of the best maps I’ve seen of that region with placenames from my geneology research. Could you tell me the source for your maps? I would like to see the places just east and south of Wothschwien Lake ( Teschendorf and Blankenhagen).
    Thank You
    Michael Trantow
