Zierke Family – Family Bible

Valerie Williamson, a descendant of Anna Rosina Zierke Thalacker, has access to Anna Rosina’s family bible, which her father owns.  She has posted a page of it on her Ancestry website.  I wrote to ask her if there were other pages with writing and to let her know I have someone who can translate historic German documents (Klaus Kolb).  This was her reply:

Yes my father has the whole bible, I will go to his house tomorrow and take some more photos of it, and see if there is more writing in it, and email the pages to you.   I would for sure be interested in knowing where the Zierke’s came from exactly, I have not done any research on them myself, too busy with my Dobrinski’s!   Thanks so much!

I’m hoping there are perhaps other notations about the family tree in there, or really any other notes made by the Zierke family.

About cthomas1967

Seeking to bring my ancestors out of the shadows of history and into the light. I have always been interested in history, and at a few different times I tried to do a family tree, but wasn't able to do it with the technology that was available then. On a business trip I visited the World War I Museum in Kansas City, MO and it was a very impressive establishment. While I was there I remember thinking, "Didn't my great-grandfather father fight in World War I? And wasn't his brother killed alongside him in some famous battle? I wonder if I can find out where he died." That's what started it all. View all posts by cthomas1967
